Sports Report - Week 2

What a welcome back to the Summer Term we had as both our girls and boys teams took on Swanbourne House in cricket fixtures this week.

The girls teams all acquitted themselves brilliantly in their matches, with some of them playing cricket for Ashfold for the first time. The Senior A team, coached by our new Deputy Head, put in a sterling performance to earn victory in their first match of the season, whilst the Senior B team came very close to snatching a win in the final few overs. The U10A and U10B teams also showed how fast they have learned new cricketing skills and earned a win and a draw respectively.

On the boys side, the 1st XI faced a formidable county player who dominated the Swanbourne innings. However, the boys kept fighting right to the end and showed great team spirit in their run chase. The 2nd XI had a much closer match and could have edged a victory if luck had been on their side. The U10 teams showed real grit and determination to come out victorious in their matches.

A great start overall to the cricket season a lets hope for more success next week.
