Children may take part in clay pigeon shooting and .22 rifle shooting as part of our programme of evening activities. No previous experience is required and training is provided by qualified shooting coaches. The activities are very popular with boys and girls alike.
Children may be selected to represent the School in inter-school competitions. In recent years, our clay shooting teams have had considerable success. In 2016, we became Under 12 and Under 13 IAPS Shooting Champions and were runners-up at the British Schools and Young Shots Clay Pigeon Shooting Championships.
Clay Pigeon Shooting
We offer clay pigeon shooting throughout the year, as an evening activity during the Summer Term, and on selected Saturday mornings and Sunday afternoons during the Autumn and Spring Terms. Coaching is provided by professional Clay Pigeon Shooting Association coaches on a local shooting estate.
We are one of the leading clay pigeon shooting prep schools - in the last 18 years, we have won the British Schools and Young Shots Championships six times and been runners-up eleven times.
.22 Rifle Shooting
We offer .22 rifle shooting as an evening activity during the Autumn and Spring Terms. Coaching is provided by the Headmaster and another teacher who are both qualified National Small-bore Rifle Association coaches. The School has its own two-lane indoor range allowing for .22 shooting at 25 yards.
Children shoot for Marksmanship Certificates awarded by the Independent Association of Prep Schools.
