Nursery (age 3-4)
Welcome to our Owlets Nursery, a happy and inspiring setting for children aged 3–4 as they begin their first steps into school life.
In our Nursery, we help your little ones to be curious, creative, and confident as they explore the world around them. Every child learns at their own pace, and we support them as they grow in their feelings, friendships, and physical skills. We believe learning should be joyful, and we work closely with families to make sure every child feels safe and supported. Being part of the Pre-Prep means our Nursery children feel included in the Ashfold family, meeting older pupils and joining in with school events.
15 Hours of Funded Nursery Childcare
We are delighted to offer 15 hours of funded childcare for all our Nursery children from January 2026.
Supporting Every Step of Their Adventure
We follow the EYFS framework to help children build important early skills. We focus on helping them feel good about themselves, communicate with others, and grow strong and active. Our child-centred approach encourages independence, confidence, and curiosity, helping children get ready for the exciting steps ahead when they move into Reception.
Our Space
Our special Nursery classrooms are made for exploring, imagining, and discovering. There are cosy corners for stories, busy role-play areas that change with the children’s interests, and bright spaces for building and creating. Each classroom leads straight outside to a large play area where children can run, jump, dig, and watch the changes of nature throughout the year. They might spot wildlife, build fairy gardens, or simply enjoy being outdoors.
A Typical Day: Explore, Learn, and Thrive.
Each day is a mix of fun activities and free play. We make sure every child’s day is filled with curiosity, confidence, and fun. Children enjoy our wonderful grounds for outdoor learning and exercise, and they use many of the school’s facilities like the Saloon, Library, Sports Hall, and Performance Studio.
Children enjoy music and PE lessons with our specialist teachers, listen to engaging stories, get creative with art, and discover through sensory play. We celebrate festivals and world events to help them understand the wider world. Outdoor learning is a key part of every day, with regular visits to our Forest School where children take part in hands-on activities, explore nature, and spot wildlife.

Our caring Nursery team loves helping children grow and thrive, and we work closely with parents through our welcoming ‘Open Door’ approach.
