Form III visit Windsor Castle
Form III visited Windsor Castle to take a closer look at the largest and oldest occupied castle in the world.
To the children’s great excitement the Queen was in, having spent the previous day there with Prince Philip celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary. They did not see her, however, and during the afternoon they noticed that the Royal Standard had been replaced with the Union Flag, indicating that she had gone away again.
After an informative tour of St George's Chapel, they looked around the outside of the Castle, spotting many defence features such as thick walls, arrow loops, crenels and merlons, murder holes and a portcullis.
After lunch, there was a visit to the splendid State Apartments, which were in the process of being beautifully decorated ready for Christmas.
