Ashfold May Ball
This year’s Ashfold May Ball invited guests to enter the world of Hollywood Glamour. And what a party it was – ball-goers were given the most spectacular evening!
The theme was reflected in the decorations including a life-size Oscar statuette. There was a red carpet complete with paparazzi and Marilyn Monroe, as well as the iconic Hollywood sign and a pop-up pub called The Golden Globe Inn.
Guests posed for photographs like film stars on the red carpet before joining friends for drinks on the lawn.
One of the highlights included Marilyn Monroe singing 'Happy Retirement' to Mr Chitty before dinner. The food was very tasty and served in just the right portions. The After Sun Band and Disco Dan were excellent and kept everyone dancing until the early hours.
The hard work that went into putting the night together must have been immense, but it certainly all paid off. The live auction, silent auction and raffle will no doubt have raised lots of money for the charities: PSC Support (helping people affected by Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis) and the Oxford Children’s Hospital 10th Anniversary Appeal; as well as the School’s playground and zip wire project.
Thank you to the May Ball Committee, guests, sponsors, donors and everyone involved for making the 11th Ashfold May Ball such a memorable event.
There are many stunning photos of the evening in the School Gallery.
