Prep Schools Debating Competition

A team of six children from Forms V and VI travelled to Marlborough College to take part in its annual Prep Schools Debating Day.

The teams were given a two-hour session on debating techniques and took part in activities that helped them practise thinking on their feet. After a nice lunch the teams were given a motion to debate and two members from each school were chosen to take part in the competition, in front of teachers and families.

After some interesting, controversial and amusing points, a winner was decided upon and we came away with a ‘highly commended’ certificate.
