Summer Photography Competition
Ashfold's budding photographers shared original and inspiring images of their summer holidays in our inaugural Summer Photography Competition.
Children throughout the School were invited to enter the competition which attracted 85 entries.
Local photographer, Paul Wilkinson, kindly agreed to judge the competition and commented, “Judging the students' photography has been one of the most challenging and inspiring tasks I’ve undertaken this year (and that includes being a judge for professional photographers from around the world!). Each and every image had something about it, whether the magic of a moment, the quality of the light, the colour, the shapes, the humour, the tone or the atmosphere. A few images had the ability to excite and raise the heartbeat and one, in particular, was so utterly beautiful that it stopped me dead in my tracks and held me inspired and enthralled.
I would like to say a huge ‘thank you’ to each and every student who entered the competition, for taking the time to create beautiful images, for making the judging so hard and, ultimately, for inspiring me. Congratulations for those who won and, if you were not successful this time, please don’t lose heart: remember a different judge on a different day would give a different result! Please keep trying!”
