Form V Trip to London

Form V travelled to London to visit the Globe Theatre and the Tate Modern.

At the Globe, we toured the theatre, took part in a workshop based on Romeo and Juliet (which the children are currently studying) and then enjoyed a stage fighting demonstration.

After lunch in the sunshine on the South Bank, we visited the Tate Modern and explored iconic modern artworks from Pablo Picasso’s ‘Weeping Woman’ and Mark Rothko’s ‘Seagram Murals’ to the latest performance and photographic art. We focused on the wings across levels 2 and 4 which cover major art movements and themes, exploring their origins and how contemporary artists have responded to these ideas.

Everyone was engaged throughout the day, particularly during the sword fighting!
