Scholars' Club
This week our scholars were treated to a wonderful presentation about one of the most important years in our history: 1066.
OA, Mr Paul Strong, who uses his incredible knowledge of history in his day job to predict what countries might do in the future, regaled us with pen-portraits of the main personalities who were all keen on taking over after Edward the Confessor. We particularly liked the sound of Harald Hardrada!
Paul then gave us a blow-by-blow account of the Battle of Hastings itself and left us in no uncertain terms why William won the day - and the country.
