Permanent | 40 hours per week | 52 weeks per year

£70,000 – 75,000 per annum, dependent upon experience

The Post

We are looking to appoint a Bursar at Ashfold School to be responsible for the financial and business affairs of the School, HR provision, the facilities, buildings and estates, and the management of the support services team. With vision and a flair for business planning, strong leadership and managerial capabilities, they will be able to apply their extensive knowledge and skills to ensure the effective operational running of the School. 

Possessing a professional finance or business management qualification, or extensive experience in in these fields, the successful candidate will have a proven track record of effective line management. They will naturally exhibit outstanding communication and organisational skills, a flexible and creative “can-do” attitude, an ability to prioritise, and an aptitude for fostering constructive and positive relationships with parents, staff, and the wider school community.   

The School

Ashfold is an established co-educational Preparatory School for around 300 children aged 3-13+ set in a beautiful Jacobean mansion with its own thirty-acre estate in the heart of the Buckinghamshire countryside just twenty minutes from Oxford, Thame and Aylesbury.

The school has expanded significantly over the last fifteen years and invested heavily in its infrastructure and support systems. We aim to give every child the firmest possible grounding in the core academic subjects, within a small caring family community where children both know each other and all of the staff.
