The Post

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Forest School Lead for September 2021 to provide high quality, inspirational Forest School lessons for all Pre-Prep children.  The Forest School Lead will take overall responsibility for the development, set up and day to day management of the Forest School at Ashfold.  The successful candidate will promote an enthusiasm for and a love of learning amongst children and will create a learning environment within which our younger pupils can grow and develop within an outdoor setting with access to outstanding facilities and resources. They will be able to encourage the children to explore, and question, the world around them and to learn from their stimulating environment.

The Forest School Practitioner should have a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification and be familiar with the delivery and assessment of quality Outdoor Learning provision.  Caring and enthusiastic, they will be energetic and possess the ability to enthuse our younger pupils to imagine, explore and develop.  Friendly and approachable, they will be able to build outstanding relations with children, staff and the wider school community.

The School

Ashfold is an established co-educational Preparatory School for around 280 children aged 3 - 13+ set in a beautiful Jacobean mansion with its own thirty-acre estate in the heart of the Buckinghamshire countryside just twenty minutes from Oxford, Thame and Aylesbury.

The school has expanded significantly over the last fifteen years and invested heavily in its infrastructure and support systems. We aim to give every child the firmest possible grounding in the core academic subjects, within a small caring family community where children both know each other and all of the staff.
