Head of Junior Department
Full Time | Permanent
Required: 1 September 2020
We are looking to appoint a Head of Junior Department at Ashfold School. The successful candidate will be genuinely passionate about education and be able to motivate the children through their inspirational teaching. Alongside their teaching responsibility, the successful candidate will oversee our vibrant and dynamic Junior Department, managing the academic initiatives and supporting the staff in the delivery of an innovative and exciting curriculum to our Year 3 and 4 students.
The successful candidate must be an experienced Key Stage 2 teacher and the role would suit both those with existing departmental headship experience and those seeking to step up to the managerial responsibilities for the first time. They will naturally possess outstanding communication skills, excellent administrative and organisation skills coupled with an ability to foster positive relationships with the children, staff and the wider school community.
Ashfold is an established co-educational Preparatory School for around 280 children aged 3 - 13, set in a beautiful Jacobean mansion with its own thirty-acre estate in the heart of the Buckinghamshire countryside just thirty minutes from Oxford.
The school has expanded significantly over the last fifteen years and invested heavily in its infrastructure and support systems. We aim to give every child the firmest possible grounding in the core academic subjects, within a small caring family community where children know both each other and all of the staff.
Application Closing date: 9am on Monday 9 March 2020
Interviews: To be arranged thereafter for the week beginning 16 March 2020
Ashfold is committed to the protections and safety of its children and the successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS check. We welcome applications regardless of age, gender, ethnicity or religion. Charity Number 272663.
