Boarding - Week Two
A bitterly cold Monday evening (at least it wasn’t raining!) didn’t deter our Robin Hood wannabees from making an excellent start to this term’s archery activity! They have set themselves a very high standard so it promises to be an exciting and closely fought competition and I can’t wait to see who scores the most points over the term.
Golfers had a wonderful time at the range and putting green. One of our newcomers got off to a great start managing to drive the ball over 100 yards – well done Connie!
On Tuesday evening, Freddie had the best catch of the evening with a 2lb perch in fishing club. This is the biggest perch ever caught from Ashfold lake and Freddie’s first experience of fishing! He has certainly set the bar high.
The boys enjoyed starting (or continuing) their models in Warhammer Club, whilst chatting about Marvel films. These sessions are great fun and very relaxing too!
Wednesday night’s ‘Challenge It’ activity saw children pull together to ensure everyone crossed the stream without getting too wet and muddy. Some were more successful than others!
Thursday night’s Pottery and Ceramics activity started well. A group of very happy children explored the clay, some enjoyed squashing and playing with it while others had free reign to sculpt anything they liked!
Cookery started with the group making cheese straws. Everyone successfully completed a least one tray and managed to make them even cheesier with large sprinklings of extra parmesan. We are all looking forward to Rocky Road next session.
What a wonderful start to the new term.
