SPORTS REPORT - WEEK 4

As promised, it was another busy week at Ashfold School on the sports field. On Monday we took a boys and girls squad to Stowe School for an Inter Prep School athletics competition and I was so proud of how every athlete competed and put in maximum effort. Our Boys team performed really well against some much larger Oxford Schools and our Girls team finished 3rd overall, which is an outstanding achievement!

On Tuesday we had a full block of junior cricket matches against Beachborogh and all teams continued their cricketing journey by bowling, batting and fielding brilliantly in the warm sunshine.

On Wednesday it was the turn of our Colts and Senior sides to showcase what they have learnt this term and they did not disappoint. The Colts A pulled off a remarkable win by holding their nerve on the final ball of the match to win by 2 runs and our 1st XI Boys team salvaged a tie out of certain defeat. In between all of that the 2nd XI and Colts B and C teams all performed exceptionally well in the field or when batting. Finally, not to be outdone, we had a team of boys and girls cricketers making Ashfold history by playing in the first ever mixed game of cricket against Chesham Prep School and they came out as convincing winners!

It is another busy week ahead with further cricket fixtures on Tuesday and Wednesday. Long may the sun shine!!
