The Post

We are seeking to appoint a Head Groundsperson to join the Facilities and Estates Team at Ashfold School.  The successful candidate will be diligent, adaptive and hard-working, taking pride in their work and contributing positively and effectively as part of the Facilities and Estates Team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of the grounds and sports pitches to ensure the effective operation of the School.  The needs of the School will require a flexible approach to work including some work at weekends subject to the needs of the School and weather conditions.

Close liaison with the Bursar and the Maintenance Team is essential on a day to day basis to ensure all sports facilities are match ready by using the various items of machinery owned by the School.  You will be suitably qualified to operate such machinery.  You will hold overall responsibility for maintaining all of the outdoor spaces, including the gardens of residents, within the School.

This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive individual keen to place their mark on the School by ensuring the grounds leave a positive impression on all who visit Ashfold School.

The School

Ashfold is an established co-educational Preparatory School for around 280 children aged 3 - 13+ set in a beautiful Jacobean mansion with its own thirty-acre estate in the heart of the Buckinghamshire countryside just twenty minutes from Oxford, Thame and Aylesbury.

The school has expanded significantly over the last fifteen years and invested heavily in its infrastructure and support systems. We aim to give every child the firmest possible grounding in the core academic subjects, within a small caring family community where children both know each other and all of the staff.
