The Post

We are looking to appoint an assistant to work alongside our Matron to meet the general medical needs of our pupils. Alongside providing a first aid response, the role will also involve supporting health plans set up to facilitate attendance at school for those pupils with specific medical needs. Friendly, compassionate and discrete, they will be a dynamic and pivotal member of the team that care for the wider pastoral needs of our children.

The successful candidate will already possess a qualification in Childcare or First Aid or will have demonstrable experience of working in this field. They will be willing to undertake the relevant regular first aid training to maintain standards of care and help deliver an outstanding first aid service. From treating minor bumps and bruises to being present on the sidelines at sports matches, their first response skills will be relied upon to ensure our children receive the best care available. With competent IT abilities and outstanding communication skills, they will be caring, approachable and will be able to develop constructive and positive relations with the children, staff, external professionals and the wider school community.

The School

Ashfold is an established co-educational Preparatory School for around 280 children aged 3 - 13+ set in a beautiful Jacobean mansion with its own thirty acre estate in the heart of the Buckinghamshire countryside just twenty minutes from Oxford, Thame and Aylesbury.

The school has expanded significantly over the last fifteen years and invested heavily in its infrastructure and support systems. We aim to give every child the firmest possible grounding in the core academic subjects, within a small caring family community where children both know each other and all of the staff.
