The Post

We are seeking to appoint an energetic Graduate Music Assistant to assist the Director of Music in promoting an enthusiasm for, and excellence in, music throughout the school. The successful candidate will assist with the learning in, and administration of, a busy and dynamic music department. Living in the boarding house, the successful candidate will also assist Head of Boarding with evening activities and boarding routines and be an integral part of the boarding house team providing pastoral support and guidance in a caring, family setting.

The successful candidate will have a good Honours degree, preferably in Music, and be able to play the piano to at least Grade 8 standard to assist in the many accompanying requirements of Ashfold's busy music department.

The School

Ashfold is an established co-educational Preparatory School for around 260 children aged 3 – 13, set in a beautiful Jacobean mansion with its own thirty acre estate in the heart of the Buckinghamshire countryside just twenty minutes from Oxford, Thame and Aylesbury.

The school has expanded significantly over the last fifteen years and invested heavily in its infrastructure and support systems. We aim to give every child the firmest possible grounding in the core academic subjects, within a small caring family community where children know both each other and all of the staff.
