Deputy Head

The Position

Ashfold School is seeking to appoint a Deputy Head to join us from January or April 2019. This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to display their passion and enthusiasm for prep schools and to use their experience to contribute to the ongoing development of this exceptional school.

The School

Ashfold is an independent prep school for boys and girls aged 3-13 years, located within easy reach of Thame, Oxford, Bicester and Aylesbury. Alongside an excellent all-round education, we pride ourselves in offering children a wealth of opportunities to participate in sports, the arts, drama and music as well as a wide variety of extra-curricular activities. The school week runs from Monday – Friday and we offer optional boarding up to four nights a week, as well as a rich and varied extra-curricular program.

The Role

The Deputy Head is a key support to the Headmaster, working closely with him on maintaining excellent communication across the staff, pupils and parents, and leading the day to day running of the school.

The successful candidate will be passionate about prep schools, and be committed to all areas of school life. They will possess outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, coupled with excellent organisational and administrative abilities. Their discretion, honesty and integrity will be crucial and they will be able to lead by example, committed to maintaining the ethos of Ashfold for the staff and children.

This is an exciting time to be part of the school under the leadership of the newly appointed Headmaster, and to play a vital role towards ensuring that every child who attends Ashfold has the chance to thrive and flourish in the classroom and beyond.
