To say that we are delighted with our Spring 2006 Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) Report would be an understatement - we are absolutely thrilled, because it is a vindication of all that we continue to strive to achieve for our children. 'Excellent', 'exemplary' and 'outstanding' are not words generally bandied about in inspection reports, yet impressively, ours is full of them.  It is wonderful that the Inspectors recognised that:

- 'Ashfold is an exciting, vibrant and happy community', where the educational experience 'very successfully reflects the aims and philosophy of the school';

- 'teaching is of high quality' and staff are 'committed and very hard working; ensuring that the best interests of the pupils are at the centre of everything they do';

- 'pupils are well educated', their personal development being 'outstanding', and that the school has a 'very good record of helping pupils to gain scholarships to top senior schools';

- 'the strength of the natural relationships and warm atmosphere created by the staff mean that pupils thrive at Ashfold';

- 'the quality of pastoral care and the boarding provision are exemplary'

- and that there is 'exemplary leadership from the Headmaster, strong and successful management by the ADC, Heads of Pre Prep and Junior Departments, and Governors'.

However, arguably the greatest accolade they gave us was that we have 'happy, pleasantly self-confident pupils who are keen to learn' - for above all, it is in this which we have all invested so heavily.

OFSTED.  It is hard to understate quite how thrilled we are with the OFSTED inspection report we received following their inspection of our Pre Prep Department provision in Spring 2005.  Indeed, had we been asked to draft the report ourselves, the Head of Pre Prep and I would have been hard-pressed to report in more glowing terms!  Every area of our provision was judged to be very good - the highest accolade inspectors are able to make - and not a single significant weakness was found.  Please click here to read the report.
