The Library is located in the heart of the School on the ground floor of the Mansion and is open throughout the school day for children to browse and borrow books.
We encourage children to use the Library's resources to read quietly, develop their knowledge of different authors and genres, and carry out research. There are books to suit all tastes as well as magazines and newspapers.
Specialist software enables children to search for particular titles and subjects and write their own book reviews.
In the Pre-Prep, children have a weekly library lesson when staff help them select books to take home. Our librarian is on hand to advise older children who are encouraged to browse independently and choose new books on a regular basis.
We hold regular events to promote a love of books and reading including author visits, book fairs and drama workshops. We also celebrate events such as World Book Day and National Poetry Day. Our Book Circle for parents and staff is well-attended and meets twice a term in the Library for lively debate on a wide range of books.
