The Post

We are looking to appoint an energetic Graduate Music Assistant to assist the Director of Music in promoting an enthusiasm for, and excellence in, music throughout the school. The successful candidate will assist with the learning in, and administration of, a busy and dynamic music department. Assisting the Head of Boarding with evening activities and boarding routines, they will also be an integral part of the living-in Boarding House team providing pastoral support and guidance in a caring, fun-filled family setting. The successful candidate will have a good Honours degree, preferably in Music, be able to play the piano to at least Grade 8 standard, and, possess a passion for music. With a keen sense of humour, they will be empathetic and kind, have excellent organisational and IT skills and the ability to develop good relations with the children, staff, parents and the wider school community.

The School

Ashfold is an established co-educational Preparatory School for around 260 children aged 3 – 13, set in a beautiful Jacobean mansion with its own thirty acre estate in the heart of the Buckinghamshire countryside just twenty minutes from Oxford, Thame and Aylesbury.

The school has expanded significantly over the last fifteen years and invested heavily in its infrastructure and support systems. We aim to give every child the firmest possible grounding in the core academic subjects, within a small caring family community where children know both each other and all of the staff.
